The musicians behind the music
are finally taking center stage.
The Players’ Showcase gives exceptional emerging instrumentalists a professional stage, a live audience and the attention of accomplished working musicians. The spotlight belongs to drummers, percussionists, string players, keyboardists and horn players.
Applicants begin with a digital performance video. Selected players advance to an in-person audition at Londzell Performing Arts Theatre, where the final field is chosen: four musicians in each of four divisions.
On showcase night, each finalist begins with a focused solo performance of up to five minutes, using an approved track or performance setup to showcase their musicianship, creativity and stage presence.
The competition continues with The Players’ Challenge. The 16 finalists form four groups, each featuring one musician from every musical division. The DJ drops two unexpected tracks for each group, with no advance song list or rehearsal. Players must listen, adapt and perform together, putting their chemistry, instinct and versatility to the test.
Eight musician judges evaluate both the solo performances and The Players’ Challenge, with one winner selected in each of the four musical divisions.
